Bloody Mary's and Matira Point
On July 22nd, we weighed anchor and were off around Bora Bora to pick up a mooring off the famous (made so by the number of celebrities that regularly visit) restaurant Bloody Mary's in Viatape Bay. We spent the afternoon hiking up Mt. Pahonu for a panoramic view of the Bora Bora lagoon.
The restaurant was a fun visit - and it was nice to have a night off from cooking! The bathrooms were interesting - all different body parts turned into handles! Took me a few minutes to catch on....
The hike was hot. HOT. Really, really hot. Had the view not been spectacular, the crew would have mutineed right then and there.

On our way down from a sweltering hike and a windless viewpoint, we ran into a local who spoke only French! What started out as a quick question about the nearest "magasin" turned into a discussion and demonstration of traditional roofing materials. Mom and I cobbled together our French to navigate as best we could! - Anna Catherine
